Maintain wide distribution of fertilizer while reducing the necessary time, energy, and fertilizer to cultivate an attractive, even lawn with this broadcast spreader from Illinois-based Agri-Fab. Whereas other types of spreaders often result in overlap or missed strips, creating a line effect on lawns, this broadcast spreader distributes fertilizer in a random spray pattern to cover a distance of 10 to 12 feet. The broadcast coverage nurtures more natural, uniform grass growth, while limiting the needed fertilizer for an extra ecological benefit. Designed for manual pushing, the spreader also can be used for grass seed or ice melt in large open areas.

Fertilizer or seed are deposited into a polyethylene hopper that resists rust, corrosion, and weather damage for long-lasting use. Accommodating approximately 125 pounds, this broadcast spreader is best equipped for use in yards and spaces 25,000 square feet or smaller. The push model features an acetal gear drive type. The spreader is towed on two 14-by-4 pneumatic turf tread tires with 3/4-inch diameter axles and ball bearings. While the broadcast spreader provides excellent distribution of fertilizer and is a good choice for spreading seed and ice melt, Agri-Fab strongly discourages its use for powder lime. This USA-made broadcast spreader is designed for pushing only and cannot be converted for towing. This product may be covered by a limited one-year warranty. Upon shipping, the broadcast spreader measures 27-1/2 by 30 by 17-1/2 inches and weighs 40 pounds.

3FALSE ADVERTIZING/MISREPRESENTATION !!!!!  May 30, 2007 By Hank
BEWARE OF PRODUCTS BOUGHT FROM AMAZON! THIS SPREADER IS NOT THE ONE PICTURED IN THE ADVERTISEMENT AND THERE IS NOTHING TO TELL YOU ANY DIFFERENT! AMAZON HAS DONE NOTHING TO CORRECT THE AD OR MAKE IT RIGHT TO ME AS A CUSTOMER, THEY DON'T EVEN ANSWER MY COMPLAINTS THAT THEY HAVE MISREPRESENTED THIS ITEM (WHICH LETS ME KNOW THEY KNOW VERY WELL WHAT THEY WERE DOING AND IT WAS NO MISTAKE!). Agri-fab sent a pamphlet with the spreader and in that pamphlet I discovered that the item pictured in the ad is the pro series with cover and diverter shield. Amazon didn't even offer that series or I would have bought it. I was looking for the top of the line spreader and that is what I saw in the picture and thought I bought, but what they chose to picture is NOT what they are shipping you. All I asked for is the few pieces to make the one I received the same as the one they pictured in the sales ad I bought from and so far they have been VERY uncooperative and nonexistent with a resolution for their liability and negligence. As for the product, it works well but the galvanizing is only lightly flash coated so when I spread fertilizer during my lawn care rounds and got back in late, the metal parts were already rusting by the next morning before I could rinse it off. DON'T WAIT to rinse after every usage cause it wount wait to rust. You would think, being what it is, that they would plate it a little better for rust protection.

3Agri-Fab spreader  Aug 23, 2007 By Larry Kennell
I had a problem with the spreader and could not get any help. The company that shipped this item referred me to Agri-Fab and Agri-Fab did not help me. They referred me back to the shipper. I decided to make the repair myself. I also did not get an iformation sheet as to how to set the spreader for the different fertilizers that are available. I contacted them and no information was avable. Most other companys provide this information. If your suppliers cannot assist a customer with a problem with their product, than you should not deal with them. When I purchase an item from you I expect good service and I am not getting it. Dealing with some of your suppliers is not always pleasant. I have been doing business with you for a long time and I trust your company. Things like this make me hesitate to do business with you.

3Just dont make things like they used too  Mar 08, 2010 By Jerry L. Green "Jerry G."
We purchased 3 of these units 3 years ago and just this past year started replacing wheel holders with our own version where we drilled a hole through the end of the bar and installed a stainless codder pin instead of a white cap. Also had to replace the piece in the bottom of the hopper to stainless, as well as the arm to hold the spreader upright were too weak and rust out way too fast but for 3 year old spreaders thats understandable. But the 2 we just received from our order in January, we had to do all of these repairs after the 2nd usage on these spreaders. I don't know if they started cutting corners on the materials or what but for the price of these spreaders at least certain parts that have direct contact with salt need to be made out of stainless steel. and the arm needs to be musch stronger so it does not bend and or break. I feel they are worth about $125.00 less than what they are asking unless thes items Are resloved properly.

4Great for de-icing sidewalks  Dec 28, 2007 By Apartment Manager
This spreader is well built and works quite well. We use it for spreading ice-melt on the sidewalks of our 23 building apartment complex. In order to do this, however, you'll need to contact Agri-Fab (the manufacturer) for an inexpensive deflector kit which you can install that narrows the spread pattern down to 4-feet wide - the ideal width for sidewalks. The large hopper means we can work for quite a while without having to stop and re-load. The large pneumatic tires give it good traction in the snow and slush covered sidewalks and make it easy to push.

5Nice!  Nov 09, 2005 By C. Chupp "Horticulturalist"
This was my first Agri-Fab purchase (although I've been checking out their products for several months) and I am very impressed. The product arrived with all parts and very detailed installation instructions so setup was a breeze. The flow control adjustment was my main concern since the $30 plastic units usually sold at garden/hardware stores were not very accurate. Not so with this unit, it has heavy duty components that open and close the opening and a very wide spread pattern (10-12 Ft.) which makes spreading pellet fertilizer a snap.

If you have a lot of turfgrass this is the way to go!
