Good investment Jun 13, 2011

We had a large garden plot to prepare for the first time, which involved renting a sod cutter and dealing with VERY dry ground. At first we thought that it would not work properly, but it turns out that "patience" is key. It would keep shutting off and didn't seem to be making much progress. I was watching my husband and realized he was trying to move too fast. Once he slowed it down and also raised the level for the first couple of passes, it worked great! All together we made 4 passes over the plot, going slow and lowering the tines each time, allowing the machine to do it's work rather than FORCING it. This is NOT like a harrower on the back of a tractor! The third and fourth times, we amended the soil with peat and manure...the garden is a success!
With both of us having bad backs and being past the age of mid-fifties, we hoped this would save a lot of back breaking work that might have left us suffering for the rest of the summer and unable to enjoy the fruits of our labors. I would buy this again...and again....
On delivery--it comes on a very large truck, in our case an 18-wheeler. When the carrier calls you to get directions, if you live rurally, make sure they have room to turn around, or arrange to meet them on the road. If they need to bring it on a smaller truck, let them know so that the proper arrangements can be made. It is VERY heavy! Make sure they put it right where you want it!

Agri-Fab Tow Behind Tine Tiller May 03, 2010

This Tow Behind Tiller was worth every red cent that we paid for it. Hubby tilled our veggie garden in record time this year. We have a walk behind rototiller and, in the past, what he did in 3 days this season would have taken weeks. Do we recommend this item? You betcha!

Does some work - Needs some work Apr 07, 2011

I bought this to use on three acres of farm ground that I purchased for a garden. I does a good job breaking up the soil and chewing up the weeds, but is rather violent in doing so. So violent, in fact, that after several uses the hitch arm broke off. I paid another $75.00 to an auto body shop to weld it back on and paint it for me. The guy that did the job said that the factory weld was a poor one.
Other than that, it does the job it's designed to do.
