Chippewa Norwegian Welt Pull-on Boots Oct 20, 2008
By dofu boy I've only had these boots for a short time, so this review is only semi-thorough.
They shipped quickly and were packaged very well. I was pleased to see and feel the quality of these boots as I took them out of the box. These are my second pair of Chippewa boots. (I also have the Rally motorcycle boots.) One website I stumbled upon prior to ordering suggested these boots run a size small and a size narrow, so instead of ordering 10 or 10.5 D, which is what I usually wear, I ordered 11 W and they fit perfectly.
The leather on these boots feels tough yet supple and comes well oiled. They boots are very comfortable. I was very pleased to see that the tread is very aggressive somewhat soft rubber; they should afford incredible traction this winter.
These boots have an orange Drilex lining. (From the pictures I saw on the internet, I thought they were lined with leather but in fact there is just a narrow strip of leather that runs around the inside of the shaft at the very top.) They are supposed to be waterproof--I can't vouch for that, but I hope it's true.
I gave these boots 4 rather than 5 stars because I'm concerned about how well the lining will hold up. The first thing my brother said when he saw them was, "Oh man, these don't even have a piece of leather down there where your heel will move up and down against the lining."
Chippewa makes very high quality boots. These particular boots are heavy-duty, beautiful, warm, and comfortable! How well the lining holds up remains to be seen.
Great Work boot - Slip them on all the time Feb 12, 2012
By dbargain2001 Got these boots to slip on in the morning to shovel snow rather than lace up my old boots. These were a little tight right out of the box, but quickly formed to my feet nicely (size seems true - I wear 10.5 in most shoes and this is what I ordered). The fit is great, my feet don't get tired, and they are quick on and off. I liked them so much I put them in my work vehicle to use in the field as well. I've worn them in temperatures down to about 15F with a stiff wind and a few inches of snow and my feet were fine. Easily shed snow so far, but will probably require some maintenance on the leather as time goes on. Price seemed a little steep, but I'm satisfied with the quality and comfort - so you get what you pay for with these.
Unbelievably Comfortable Work Boots!!! May 17, 2011
By R. Gonzalez I purchased these from Amazon not ever having used any Chippewa boots. My two concerns were the true fit (size reliability) and comfort of these boots. I bought these to work outdoors on my property. I often find myself doing a lot of manual labor as well as being on my feet for many hours while completing projects at home. I have Plantar Fasciitis which causes extreme pain in my feet and heel. I am very familiar with work boots since my profession requires I wear them regularly. I've found that all the tactical style boots I've worn are junk when it comes to working outdoors (yard work).
These boots have allowed me to continue to work hard and long without experiencing any pain during or after my projects. I am very, very happy with my purchase. Amazon has made these boots available at an incredible price. I know I will buy them again when I need a new pair. It seems that I go through them quite often so durability can not be evaluated since I've only worn them for 1 month now.
We are currently in a dry spell at home so in terms of water resistance, I can not speak. The boots are TRUE to size. I wear a 10.5 and the boots when ordered that size fit nicely. I have a narrow foot so wide feet may have issues although they do not fit me tight. Don't waiver and buy them, you will NOT be disappointed.
Mens pull-on work boots Mar 21, 2011
By fjh3566 The Chippewa 25975 pull-on work boot is very comfortable, waterproof and with excellent support and traction. The boot quickly conforms to your foot so there is very little time your feet will suffer. Start off with thin socks and after a day or two start using your regular socks again. These boots are excellent and priced low especially when purchased through Amazon.
