5Good for shorter new riders.  May 09, 2008 By Patricia J. Pringle-oaks
I like this tricycle because it works well with smaller than average two year old.He is just learning, but as soon as we put him on it his feet went to the pedals. We don't have a whole lot of pavement at our place to ride on so this trike is great for "off road"as well.A friend had one for her son so Ipretty much knew what to expect. We like it.My husband had abit of difficulty putting on the handle bars though.

4Overall good trike  Apr 19, 2009 By D. Cahill
We purchased this trike for our 19 month old. He likes the dumper bucket on the back but is still a little too small for the pedals. He likes pushing it around on our dirt driveway and it is very sturdy.

5classic and sturdy  Oct 15, 2010 By Holly
Purchased for my 2 year old, and couldn't be happier. My husband had to assemble it because the metal clamp needed to be stretched out over the neck of the bike, but very easy fix. It took about 15 minutes to assemble. Son loves it and the dump bucket makes the bike. If you are interested in purchasing this item, I bought it online at Amazon through Farm and City Supply. Fantastic service and price - can't be beat.

5Gift for My My Grandson  Aug 29, 2010 By Kay Goldberg
This was a gift for my grandson celebrating his second birthday. Unfortunately I didn't get to Austin, Texas to see him open it. My son said he loved the trike and although my grandson is still figuring out how to ride it, he does place his teddy and other favorite toys in the hauler. Just what I had hoped. Gavin has a 3 month old brother so I also had him in mind even though he is still litte. The gift arrived on the date promised in time for his party. That was my biggest concern. I also bought the trike because it was a John Deere and seemed sturdy. Time and use will tell.

5Excellent Trike, Too large for 2 yr old  Jun 01, 2010 By Desert Nurse Practitioner "DNP"
This is a pretty trike-John Deere green and yellow, of course... but unfortunately, Grandchild's short 2 year old legs didn't quite reach the pedals. He really loved the little dumper on the back -- and it is cute. Not good to stand on - (which he did immediately, of course!) but it is easily removed. The trike seems to stable otherwise - no tipping even when cranked hard to right or left. Light enough for child to push it easily.

The instructions were less than great. Since there were parts numbered "1" to "8", one would expect instructions to go to "8". Not so - the instructions ended at "3" and without a bit of experience in putting toys together, frustration is likely. I should add that there is very little to assemble- and the pieces fit well.
It is possible that our kit was simply missing the second page of instructions. Also surprising is that John Deere did not take the time to translate the instructions into proper English. It is necessary to supply your own tools -two wrenches and a screwdriver are minimum requirements.

The handlebar and main support parts are metal. Wheels are plastic and appear quite durable. The seat has back support and is without a center 'bump." Nice. Although the instructions skip this part, the screws for the seat go on with the little plastic part sticking out. Be careful when putting on the handlebars -- if the directions are followed perfectly, the handlebars must come off again when the front wheel is added, and the clamp will have to be opened wide again - better to do them all together at the same time.

Definitely would buy again - but maybe not until 3 years
