Less than half the price = less than half as good? Nov 16, 2010
By Sam Smith A reason to use the product for a while before reviewing:
We mow three acres basically once a week and always bag the grass. (I know: not good, but the wife is obsessive about grass drug in the house by the kids.) In all, an average of 100 hours a year on the John Deere between grass and leaf pick-up.
We got six years out of the original Deere bags. After one season of use, I figure we'll get probably two seasons out of these bags. Currently, one handle is ripped off, and a few corners of the bags are starting to pull apart.
In the end, its a trade-off: At less than half the O.E. replacement cost, we'll get less than half the use out of them. If you don't use yours as much, or are maybe a little more careful with the bags than my son probably is, these may be the replacement bags for you.

Finally.....an honest man! Mar 25, 2010
By Saltwateranglin I searched for quite a while for a reasonable priced aftermarket John Deere grass bag for my old mower. This fellow has a great deal on a good product and is quick to ship to boot! I received my new bags and put them on quickly. Simply had to drill out the rivets and slide them on and off. To replace the rivets I had to use small bolts and nuts. They hang the same as the old and are qood quality material.
I got an email the other day from the seller apologizing that he forgot the instructions and a bolt kit to install them. He said he was sending them right away and apologized. I never even knew it came with them in the first place. Very nice to have someone thoughtful enough to do that.
Buy 'em you like them.

Perfect fit. Challenge to install Nov 03, 2007

Perfiect fit for my 13 year-old John Deere. Installation requires drilling and/or grinding out 4 large rivets on each frame. These need to be replaced by nuts and bolts unless you have access to a 1/4" riveter. Your hand-powered pop riveter will not do it.
