If you're not looking for anything fancy, this tack trunk is great. I wanted something durable,spacious, and able to be locked, and this trunk fits the bill. It's also very lightweight; so, much easier to load in and out of a trailer even when it's packed with all your stuff. Also, if it gets mudd or anything else on it, just hose it off!

This is a great trunk, extremely durable and very roomy (holds a lot of stuff). I also like the extra tack box that sits in the trunk. I use it to hold bathing items for my horse.

This item says Tack Trunk "w/ Tote Tray". The item I received did not have a Tote Tray. It has what looks like a cheap dish tub like the one I use for washing dishes when I go camping. The description says it includes a tote tray, the photo shows a formed plastic tote tray with a wooden handle that fits snugly into the box and the box has a pre-formed space in the top for the tote tray. But that is NOT what I received. I received a dish tub in the place of the tote tray. A dish tub that is not suited for my uses. I need a readily portable tote tray to keep a curry comb, a brush or two, a scraper and several other items that I need to take to the wash rack when I go to clean up after riding or prior to showing. A tote tray with a handle allows me to hold the tote tray in one hand and the lead rope in the other hand. A dish tub has to be carried with two hands. I give this item a single star, and would give it less if I could, because I now have to go through the hassle of sending this hefty, bulky item back, and I also have to place an order through another vendor. I called the Manufacturer on 12/07/2010, and they said the tote was changed to Tub and this change was provided to seller who never changed the web photos or the description. SHAME ON AMAZON for not taking the time to change the description when the product changed.

This trunk is pictured incorrectly. It does not come with a tray with a wooden handle. The picture and description are both wrong. Amazon was no help with this problem.

The Jolly Pet Tack Trunk is large enough for most supplies, although I certainly wouldn't try to cram a saddle into it. It does an adequate job of keeping supplies clean and organized, but the lid does not fit tightly enough to keep out dust and insects. The trunk is lightweight and sturdy enough to sit on, but the plastic piece of the lid which holds a padlock is brittle and breaks easily. This piece is part of the molded lid, and fits through a metal plate on the lower portion of the trunk. It can not be repaired, and there is no other way to attach a lock. This trunk could be improved greatly by using more durable materials where the lock is attached.
