1What a piece-o-crap!  May 01, 2010 By luv2fly
I needed a spreader really quick and found this in Sears on sale for 30 bucks. I took one look at it and told the guys it was about the sorriest looking, chintzy, flimsy piece of junk for any price. "Ohh, nooo, oh we sell a lot of these, people like 'em..." Yeah, right. But I needed a spreader and I was tired of shopping. I get it home and see that assembly couldn't be much easier. Well, yeah, it could. It just assembles with 3 1/4-20 carriage bolts and PLASTIC wing nuts. I mean, they couldn't even give you 3 decent steel wing nuts? But carriage bolts are supposed to go into a square hole and there aren't any here so there's no way really to hold the bolt while tightening the PLASTIC wing nuts, as they don't spin very freely over the bolts. I gave up and just put a couple regular bolts in holding them with a socket...the way it should've been. Operating this pathetic thing, the volume control is about as cheap as it gets, you loosen the PLASTIC wing nut and fight with the sloppy, flimsy on/off handle to set the stop. Once done it's okay and you know, the thing really didn't spread all that bad really, I will give it that. If your lawn needs rolling you're going to have a tough time pushing this toy, the plastic molded legs twist and bend over every rut. I kept thinking it was going to catch one of these times, buckle, break and dump everything. Somehow it held up for the 1 1/2 hours I needed it. Then it happened, just as I got done, the spinner came loose on its' shaft. Now it just spins freely...or not...in any case it doesn't spin when the wheels do. Well, this thing is going back to the store and I'm getting a refund. I bought it at 1/2 the price Amazon is offering it for and I still got ripped off. Pure, PLASTIC...JUNK!

1Junk  Feb 02, 2011 By Enzo DeFilippis
What a piece of junk. I was not able to fertilize my lawn because the wheels broke. This is worse that a toy.
