5So far so good  Nov 17, 2010 By 12gaugesolution
Been wearing these boots for 10 days now and have put em to the test. I do a lot of heavy labor in construction ranging over almost every field. I do domestic and irrigation pumps, build houses, electrical, plumbing, sewer..everything. These boots took about three days to break in enough where they weren't killing my feet. As a note to future buyers, the first couple days were killer on my ankle bones. In fact, i thought i was going to have to return them. I decided to ride it out and they now fit comfortably to my feet. So if you experience the same, just give em a chance to break in before you decide on anything.

5First pair of Red Wings  Nov 09, 2011 By allenboysmomma
I purchased these for my husband who is on his feet quite a lot throughout the day for his job. I did some extensive research to find who has the most durable, comfortable steel toe work boot. Over and over, the Red Wing brand beat out the competition. My husband said these are by far the most comfortable pair of work boots he's ever owned; AFTER he wore them in a bit. There was an area on each boot by the ankle that felt like a lump on the inside making it painful at times. He doubled up his socks, wore them in a while longer and has not had any issues since. He said the bottom of the boot feels like it has that memory foam material and considering he's on his feet 10+ hours a day, he loves them!

5Great Work Boot  May 27, 2011 By Jennifer Thornburg "Jenna"
We bought these for my husband who works on pools (very hot, wet conditions as well as hazards that require a steel toe). They are holding up great so far; we have had them about 3 months. My husband did not have issues with breaking them in, as some other reviewers had, and I loved that we could get them in a large, extra wide size. They seem to be very sturdy, I will update my review when they wear out and we are ready to buy another pair.

4A descent work boot  Sep 08, 2010 By Alexander W. Smith "AWS"
I bought these boots about a year ago and I use them for construction work where I'm on my feet quite often. They're made of thick leather and good padding. It took a while for the thick leather to form to my foot but now it's one of the more comfortable boots I've ever owned. My only complant with these boots is that seem quite heavy. I've owned many boots before and I find myself getting quite a workout lugging around these things at the end of my feet. This is really a small complant but to me this takes away from the comfort factor just a little bit.

5Good boots!  Nov 28, 2011 By R. Jones
It was time to finally say goodbye to my old boots; wearing those bricks each day resulted in the feeling of pins sticking in my toes. A friend in the trades recommended Red Wing boots; as he's been wearing work boots for the past 20+ years, I can easily trust his judgement. So far, so good. Still in the breaking in stage - nothing more than two little blisters on the top of my toes, but the pain free feeling easily outweighs a little blister. I normally wear a 11 1/2, but needed to return them for a 12 wide.
